Login Huawei Fiber ONT / ONU
If you are an internet provider and using the Fiber network then you must know How to login to Huawei EchoLife ONT (HG8240, HG8240T) and other Fiber ONT, ONU devices. Huawei OLT and ONU device used by ISP and leading telecom brands to deliver internet connection over fiber optical cable. If you are using Huawei GPON OLT or EPON OLT or using any different brand GPON OTL but the client end ONT device is Huawei ONT then you must read this article to learn step to step login Huawei FTTH ONT ONU device. you need to login to FTTH ONU device to Change your WiFi Name, Password, configure internet settings manually, and enable a firewall and internet schedule that can manage by an internet subscriber.
So if you are an internet subscriber you also required to login to ONT device to manage your wifi internet without asking to your service providers. You need to connect either WiFi or Wired connection with your Fiber ONU device installed with fiber cable at your home. Before proceeding to setup you need to know the default login settings for Huawei FTTH ONT that are usually printed to ONT device sticker.
Huawei EcoLife FTTH ONT/ONU Default Login Settings
Find the default login credential for your ONT device backside sticker or Quick user manual that comes with the device box if configuring the first time. Find below the Default username and password for Huawei Echolife ONT and ONU.
Default Login IP Address – 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.1.1
Default Login Username– telecomadmin
Login Password– admintelecom
Steps to Login FTTH ONT for First Time Configuration
The next steps are a physical or wireless connection with the ONT device using LAN cable or Default WiFI SSID.
Factory Reset Huawei FTTH ONT Modem Router?
- Huawei ONT Fiber PON port should be connected to fiber cable coming from your internet providers. Do not disturb fiber cable if your ISP installed it before and internetworking.
- Connect ONT LAN port using LAN cable to PC/Laptop LAN port. Or use the default WIFI name to connect from WiFI.
- Power ONT ONT using a DC adapter comes with a box.
- Go to PC/Laptop LAN IP settings and change it to DHCP mode.
Once the connection is done with the ONU device now proceed to login ONT settings using a web browser.
Access ONT Web interface to Browser
Open a web browser and access http://192.168.l00.1 and wait to load Huawei ONT login page asking for a username and password.

Press the Login button and you will be entered to the status page after successful authentications. The next and important step is to change default wireless settings to protect wifi from unknown access.
Change Default SSID and Password
Huawei ONT comes with single and dual-band so for dual-band ONT you have to configure both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi settings.
Go to the WLAN tab from the top menu as shown below image.

SSID Configuration details
SSID Name- Create New WiFI SSID for Huawei ONT 2Ghz band.
Number of Associated– 32 default ( you can specify total number wifi user can connect your Wi-Fi)
Authentication Mode– WPA/WPA2 PSK Pre-shared Key
WPA Pre-shared Key– Create a stronger WIFI password for your ONT.
Press the Apply Save button to confirm configuration and go to the 5G Basic Network Settings tab to configure 5Ghz Wireless Band settings.
Create a WIFI name and password 5Ghz band and save settings. You can use the same SSID and password as configured in 2.4GHz for both bands.
The next highly recommended steps change the Login password during the first time setup to protect ONT access from users connected to the network.
Change ONT Login Password
You must change the default login password for FTTH ONT Router, Modem, and any other network device during the first-time login.
Go to System Tools from the top menu.
System Tools- Modify Login Password
The login password is the default one. Change it immediately.
Username- telecomadmin or user admin depends on the model.
OLD password- provide old password use for login.
New Password- create New login password.
Confirm Password- Provide a new password again.
Press Apply settings.
Tips to change Login Password-
- Use mix combination password with number, word, special character.
- Avoid using personal information while creating a login or WIFI password.
- Don’t write a login or wifi password on the router sticker.
- Use a complex password that is hard to guess and easy to remember.
