X220 is a Wireless GPON ONT modem compatible with most of brands GPON OLT devices and perfectly gives you a high-speed internet connection over FTTH. This article help you to Setup TP Link XC220 AC1200 gigabit dual band Fiber ONT modem rotuer.

TPLink Xc220 supports dual-band wireless, as well as voice, calls with full gigabit ports to give you high-speed internet on wireless as well as wired. It supports 4 Gigabit LAN ports, 1 GPON port, and 1 RJ11 port for phone connections and 1200mbps combined Wi-Fi speed.

As the TPlink XC220 ONT device support WiFi and LAN both so you can use either wired or wireless to access modem settings to change the Wireless name and password as well as other configuration such as mac access list, content filtering, parental control, and many more.

Before proceeding to login modem go to modem sticker and get the default login IP address, username, and password as well as the default WiFI name and security key for TP-link FTTH ONT. Follow the steps to configure TPLink XC220 dual band Fiber ONT Modem Router.

Login TP-Link XC220 dual band Fiber Modem

You can use WiFi or a wired LAN connection from a Laptop or computer to log in to fiber onu from a web browser. You need a LAN cable for the wired connection and wifi password for the wifi connection. Follow the steps below if you are ready with all requirements needed to access fiber ont.

Unbox TP-link XC220 ONT if first-time setup and connect to the power adapter comes with the box.
Turn ON the ONT modem and use a LAN cable for wired connections.
Connect the LAN cable from the LAN port (LAN1 to LAN4) and connect to the PC/computer on another side.
Use the Wifi name and password for the default printed on the sticker to use the wifi connection.
Open a web browser and access http://192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.1 to the URL bar.
Create an admin password for access to TP-link XC220 ont the modem and proceed to the next steps.
After creating a new password go to the next steps and skip the wizard to directly go to advance settings if your ONT is already configured.

Setup ONT WAN Internet settings

For first-time cSetup TP Link XC220 AC1200, you need to set up WAN internet settings as per your internet types such as PPPoE, Static IP, or DHCP internet type. Get internet settings details from your internet provider to configure WAN settings as per showing below steps.

Go to Basic- Internet settings

Choose the internet type from settings- PPPoE, STATIC IP

Provide PPPoE username and password.

Also, configure VLAN ID if any VLAN is configured for the internet profile as per OLT configuration.

Save settings and proceed for the next steps to configure Wireless Name and password.

Change Wireless SSID and Password

Change Default WIFI SSID and password for XC220 fiber ONT to secure internet from unknown access. In default mode, a weak password is configured so it is important to change it.

Go to Basic- Wireless settings

Wireless Settings- 2.4Ghz Wireless Network- Enable

Network name (SSID): TP-Link (change this wifi name to the new wifi name you want to use for wifi)

Password- Create a stronger wifi password for your 2.4G WIFI.

5GHz Wireless Network– Enable

Network name (SSID): TP-Link_5G (change this wifi name to the new wifi name you want to use for 5Ghz wifi)

Password- Create a stronger wifi password for your 5Ghz WIFI.

Save settings and you will disconnect from the network after changing wifi name and password.

Connect again to configure other settings such as parental control, firewall, and other security features.

If you trying to log in already configured TPLink ONT device and the login IP and password not working. You can use the reset button to factory reset TP-link XC220 ac1200 ONT modem to restore into default mode.

Press the reset button for 10 seconds to restore the TP-link FTTH ONT configuration to default mode and follow the above guide to setup again from starting.
