Block website and Apps in Fiber ONT/ONU
Using broadband internet connection over FTTH network or Ethernet network always required security features. Parental control, content filtering, and user block in ONT devices is a very useful security feature to protect your home from inappropriate internet browsing. If your internet provider installs, Netlink, VSOL, DBC, Syrotech, HSGQ FTTH ONT, or any other brand that works in router mode will give your security feature to secure your internet connections. There are a few steps to block websites and apps in the Fiber ONU devices to restrict websites not useful for your kids and office work.
Enabling content filtering to secure your internet from harmful spams website and protect your device and data. You can block wifi users, the wired users, or create a white list or blacklist as per user belongs to your network. You can access the ONT modem router either using a wired connection or a WiFi connection if ONT supports wifi. Steps to Block Site and Apps in Fiber ONU
To block the website and users in the fiber ONU device need to access the router control panel to authorize settings. Follow steps to block mobile apps and sites and users using a blacklist or white list.
- Connect ONT modem using wired LAN cable from Ethernet port or using WIFI if ONT supports WLAN.
- Go to LAN settings of PC and make sure TCP/IPv4 settings in DHCP mode (Obtain IP address automatically).
- Check the ONT sticker to get the default login IP address and username password for your FTTH ONT.
- Open web browser and access http:/192.168.1.1 for netlink, DBC, syrotech, VSol ONT.
- Use Netlink default username “admin” and default password “stdONU101” for the first-time login or use the same password if already changed.

Username– admin
Password- stdONU101 (or if already change use same
Security code- provide a security code to verify you are human.
Press the login page and proceed to the next step to block the site.
Once you logged into ONT router settings now follow the next steps to create white or blacklist.
Go to Security – WAN access Tab from the top menu.
Under WAN access you will get security to enable URL block mode and choose the filtering rule type.

Black List– if you want to block any website to restrict access in the network. The website and apps added to the block list will not access your internet.
White list– website list you want to only allow in the network to access. All other websites will be blocked if they are not added to the white list.
Choose filtering type and add website and apps name to block.
Press the Add button and add the website URL with HTTPS and HTTP to block all types of access.
Example- http://facebook.com, https://facebook.com as well as facebook.com
You can add multiple website names you want to block in the network.
Press Apply changes and you will redirect to the site URL list where you can delete the website anytime to unblock from network restrictions.
If you want to block an IP address or Port filtering you can use IP/Port Filtering option under the security tab.
Blocking websites protects your kids from cyber traps and spam websites that can access your personal data and user privacy settings.
